A Biosecurity (Varroa mite) Emergency Order is in place, restricting the transportation of bees to, from and within NSW, effective to 22 June 2023.
Under the Emergency Order, we're able to transport queen bees from interstate to NSW if the bees are transported in a secure container and remain in the container until they arrive at the premises at which they will be placed into a hive. Only registered beekeepers are permitted to move queen bees and queen cells, and only into certain zones.
