How to renew an Australian passport

- Lodge your passport renewal application at a participating Post Office – you don’t need a booking
- Pay the fee
Current processing times are available through the Australian Passport Office. They will email you when they despatch your passport. Allow 5-6 business days for delivery.
Child passports
A parent, or somebody with parental responsibility, can lodge a child passport application. If aged 16 or 17, the child applicant(s) must come to the Post Office too. Find out more about child passports.
Adult passports
Standard adult passports are valid for 10 years. Applicants aged 75 years and over can apply for 5 year validity. Find out more about adult passports.
