Choosing the right customs form

You’ll need to fill out a customs declaration form for all parcels (and express letters) you send overseas.

Save time by completing your customs declaration before lodging your parcel.

Prepare your customs declaration

Complete online

Get a head start by filling in our online declaration, then show your confirmation QR code at the Post Office counter.

Use MyPost

The ideal option if you know the weight of your parcel. Fill in the form, pay online and print your postage label, then lodge your parcel in-store or in a Street Posting Box.

Complete in-store

Use your own mobile device at the Post Office to complete the declaration online. You can also fill in a paper customs form in store, but our team will need to type in your details in an online form while you wait.

Not sure how to classify your item?
To be considered a letter or document, your package must:

  • weigh less than 500g
  • only contain printed material with no commercial value if you're sending overseas
  • have a rectangular shape
  • be no larger than a B4 envelope (260 x 360 x 20mm)
  • be no thicker than 20mm.

Guide to completing your customs declaration

Providing clear and accurate information on your International shipment helps your items clear destination customs for faster deliveries. Without this information, your shipment may be held up or returned to you, the sender, resulting in unnecessary delays and a poor delivery experience for the recipient.
