Ordinary and registered Letters:

Peru does not accept ordinary and registered letters containing articles subject to customs duty.

Import restrictions

If an item is subject to import restrictions, it means that provisions must be met before it will be released from customs in the destination country, territory or region.

We recommend you confirm import restrictions with local authorities before posting:

  • Anti-parasite products
  • Books and periodicals in commercial quantities
  • Canned food
  • Cosmetics and perfumes
  • Flour and milk for children or the sick
  • Maps of Peru or neighbouring states
  • Medicines
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • Saccharine and similar products
  • Valuables
  • Wines and spirits.

Peru admits gift parcels addressed to natives of Peru to the value of $US450 per person per year.

Special documentation

In addition to our customs forms, authorities in the destination country, territory or region require further documentation for some items.

Commercial goods require an invoice. If goods exceed $US200 value, a Consul of Peru must endorse the invoice.

    International Express - Parcels does deliver to a Post Office Box and Poste Restante.
  • International Express - Letters guaranteed service is not available from Perth
  • Sealing of letters
    Letters sealed with adhesive tape must bear the name and signature of the sender on the tape.
