Prohibitions

The following items are prohibited from importation, meaning they won't be allowed to enter the destination country, territory or region.

Perfume is prohibited under International Express.

Batteries

All types of batteries and devices containing them are prohibited from being sent via International Express.

Import restrictions

If an item is subject to import restrictions, it means that provisions must be met before it will be released from customs in the destination country, territory or region.

Watches

Montenegro may accept watch cases or housings (mounted or unmounted) of complete watches made of precious metals after analysis of the metal content. Montenegro does not accept articles containing incomplete watch cases or parts.

Personal-use items

Postal items addressed to individuals may contain personal travel articles, articles for personal and family use (medicines, medical instruments, teaching and leisure material) and articles for the use of their household in quantities not intended for resale. Personal items not exceeding $US30 are exempt from customs duty.

Legacy and contract items

Items inherited abroad and articles provided for in contracts concluded between States may be freely imported in accordance with such contracts.

Professional tools of trade

Natural persons of Montenegran nationality exercising a profession may import articles for use in that profession subject to special conditions.

Import Permits

Montenegro requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit.

Special documentation

In addition to our customs forms, authorities in the destination country, territory or region require further documentation for some items.

Senders must provide proof of the addressee's entitlement on the customs form; otherwise, the addressee must provide the proof before delivery. Customs authorities inspect all non-letter items.

SENDERS SHOULD MARK ALL GIFTS AND ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS GIFT PARCEL OR ENVOI CADEAU.

Invoices

All commercial goods must include an invoice.
