Current delivery times and service changes

We're always doing what we can to keep things moving, but right now letters may take a little longer to arrive. Our services have temporarily changed to meet the challenge of record volumes and ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. We've updated the information on this page to help you plan.

Are you a concession card holder?

You could be eligible for a reduced rate on domestic postage with concession stamps.

How to post your letter

To get your letter on its way ASAP, simply post it over the counter at a Post Office prior to closing time, or in a red street-posting box.

Monday - Friday clearance times for street posting boxes vary depending on location. Check the details on your local box.

Items posted on weekends or public holidays will begin their delivery journey the next business day.

Sending rigid items?

Small, inflexible items sent in regular paper envelopes can easily get damaged in our sorting machines.

If you’re sending such items – especially in large volumes – please contact your account manager to discuss design or arrange testing your packaging.

Or, you can email us at MailPresentation@auspost.com.au

Sending Christmas or seasonal greeting cards?

You can purchase a reduced rate Christmas stamp during the months of November and December to send your Christmas and seasonal greeting cards.
