Who’s this? My Dachshund

What’s it all about? Dachshunds, of course. You know, those adorable pups with the little legs and long bodies also affectionately known as sausage dogs, hot dogs and wiener dogs.

Anything else we should know? Well, for a start it’s pronounced daks-hun (not dash-hound, daks-shund or some variation thereof). And if you’re thinking ‘can there be enough Dachshund-related merchandise to fill an entire online store?’—the answer is yes. Yes, there is. You’ll find toys, treats, clothes and specialty products for these vertically challenged canines (like a booster seat). And for owners and sausage dog admirers, there’s all manner of quirky finds including games, homewares, bags, jewellery and even watches.

So how did it all come to be? It’s not a new thing, kicking off back in 2006 as a way to source quality products for this unique breed. Current proprietor Naomi Jones took over in 2013 (founder Sharman Moore was focused on her work with Dachshund Rescue Australia) to keep the public’s appetite for Dachshund-related paraphernalia. It will not surprise you to learn that Naomi has four Dachshunds of her own.
