4 PO Box benefits from Wetherill Park Business Centre

From June 20 – 30th 2022, Australia Post is offering a 25% discount on PO Box rental to customers who sign up in store.1 So we decided to talk to Michelle Costa, Business Services Manager at Wetherill Park Post Office,  on the benefits of a PO Box for business.

Key points

  • Security and convenience are two big reasons to consider investing in a PO Box for your business.
  • Having a PO Box makes your business appear professional, both on your letterhead and the address for your returns.
  • There are a range of optional extras with a PO Box, from having mail delivered onsite, to receiving a Mail2Day notification when mail arrives.

“Wetherill Park used to be the largest industrial estate in NSW and, recently, I’ve noticed more and more people coming back into the area,” says Michelle. “Our clients range from mailing houses, logistics, telecommunications, manufacturing, real estate agents, accountants and much more.”

“Managing PO Boxes is one of the main aspects of my role,” says Michelle. “I manage 10 staff, with four of those being PO Box and Locked Bag sorters and packers. We’re currently servicing a total of 639 PO Boxes for local businesses!”

Here are Michelle’s top four reasons why a business would use a PO Box:

No. 1: Security

Many factories and warehouses on older industrial estates, like Wetherill Park, don’t have letterboxes installed, so they lease a PO Box. These businesses can then choose to give limited staff access to their PO Box, so they always know who’s handling their mail.

A PO Box – as opposed to a letterbox – ensures there’s no theft following delivery; it provides an extra level of privacy and anonymity and, over Christmas and other holidays, when businesses close, they know their mail is securely kept on hold.

No. 2: Convenience

With many businesses now either mobile or periodically working from home, a PO Box offers a convenient way to receive their mail. There’s also the benefit of 24-hour access (at participating sites) and parcel pick-up from 5am.

No. 3: Professional

Listing a PO Box on your letterhead, and as the address for any returns, not only looks professional but assures people that any correspondence is going to be secure, private and received!

No. 4: Optional extras

There are a range of optional extras with a PO Box:

  • You can use our Van Services Team to have your mail delivered onsite.
  • Our Mail2Day service sends you a notification when there’s mail in your box, so you don’t need to check it every day.
  • You can link a charge account to the PO Box for rental payment.
  • An added bonus is we keep PO Box parcels for 30 days for those who can’t get to an outlet straight away.
