Comoros
17 December 2024: Items sent to and from Comoros may experience significant delays due to Cyclone Chido which has severely affected postal operations and delivery services.

Sudan
Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from Sudan due to civil unrest.

There are no other current updates for Africa.

India
From May 2024, India customs has imposed a Know Your Customer (KYC) legal requirement, which mandates that government-recognised identity and address proof must be presented to customs during shipment clearance for items sent via International Courier to India. To avoid customs delays and for a smooth clearance process, ensure you inform your recipient to complete the KYC process with the customs authority. Belgium
11 February 2025: Items sent to and from Belgium may experience delays due to union strikes commencing on 13 February, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

Bosnia and Herzegovina
7 October 2024: Items sent to and from Bosnia and Herzegovina may experience delays due to heavy rainfall and flooding resulting in road closures. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services.

France
17 December 2024: Items sent to and from Mayotte may experience significant delays due to Cyclone Chido which has severely affected postal operations and delivery services.

Georgia
26 February 2025: Items sent to and from Georgia may experience delays due to poor weather conditions throughout the western region. These conditions have impacted postal operations and delivery services.

Greece
26 February 2025: Items sent to and from Greece may experience delays due to union strikes commencing on 28 February. The strikes may impact postal operations and delivery services.

19 November 2024: Items sent to and from Greece may experience delays due to planned union strikes on 20 November, which will impact postal operations and delivery services.

Ireland
24 January 2025: Items sent to and from Ireland may experience delays due to Storm Éowyn, which has impacted postal operations and delivery services.

Italy
3 February 2025: Items sent to and from Italy may experience delays due to planned union strikes on 5 February, which will impact postal operations and delivery services.

Russia
Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from the Russian Federation.

The temporary suspension will remain in place until Australia Post can ensure compliance with all relevant sanctions requirements, and is subject to the availability of transport to and from Russia.

Serbia
16 December 2024: Items sent to and from Serbia may experience delays due to disruptions and blockages impacting postal operations in Kosovo and Metohija (postcodes beginning with 38).

Ukraine
There may be delays to letters and parcels sent to and from the Ukraine due to:

• limited airline capacity
• some postcodes being currently inaccessible
• planned power outages

United Kingdom
December 2024: Items sent to the UK via International Standard service may be delayed, due to high demand and transit disruptions. We're working on processing and delivering these items as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

There are no other current updates for Europe.
 

Iran
14 October 2024: Due to limited flight capacity, there are temporary service disruptions in place for items sent to and from Iran. Service disruptions will remain in place until Australia Post can guarantee availability of transport to and from Iran, and is able to deliver items. Customers who have recently sent items to Iran may have their items returned. We apologise for any inconvenience and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Lebanon
24 September 2024: Items sent to and from Lebanon may experience significant delays as conflict in the region has led to reduced flight capacity, road closures and security restrictions at post offices.
Short Term Force Majeure: From 12 to 31 December 2024.

There are no other current updates for the Middle East.

Canada
As of 15 January 2025, Australia Post has resumed all services to and from Canada following a suspension of mail services to Canada due to union strike action in November and December.  

Canada Post has made significant progress in clearing delayed items caused by the strike action. However, customers may still experience delays as Canada Post works to clear the backlog.

United States of America
4 February 2025: Items sent to the US may experience delays at the destination as US customs and border agencies adjust to the new tariffs on items sent from China and Hong Kong.

9 January 2025: Items sent to and from the US may experience significant delays due to the weather events of storms Blair and Cora, ongoing wildfires in Southern California and severe winter weather in Anchorage, Alaska. These events have severely impacted postal operations and delivery services across the US. As a result, the United States Postal Service has declared a force majeure event from the 14 January 2025.

There are no other current updates for North America.

Peru
From May 2023, due to compliance issues with national legislation governing items into Peru, SERPOST is only accepting items transported by air. Sea Mail will be suspended until further notice.

Suriname
26 February 2025: Items sent to and from Suriname may experience significant delays due to strikes that began on 19 February 2025. The strikes may impact postal operations and delivery services.
