The following items are prohibited from importation, meaning they won't be allowed to enter the destination country, territory or region.

Transporting food of any kind is prohibited under International Courier.

Cash and Perfumes are prohibited under International Courier to Italy.

Cash and Perfumes are prohibited under International Express to San Marino.

Batteries

All types of batteries and devices containing them (e.g. laptops, mobile phones, wireless headphones and equivalent, power banks, tablets, etc.) are prohibited from being sent via International Courier.

For International Express articles going to San Marino, all types of batteries and devices containing them (e.g. laptops, mobile phones, wireless headphones and equivalent, power banks, tablets, etc.) are prohibited from being sent.

If an item is subject to import restrictions, it means that provisions must be met before it will be released from customs in the destination country, territory or region.

We recommend you confirm import restrictions with local authorities before posting:

EDNs and export permits are required for:

• Kangaroo skins
• Crocodile skins
• Emu oil

• Any other alcohol including beer and spirits all volumes.

In addition to our customs forms, authorities in the destination country, territory or region require further documentation for some items.

Italy requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Commercial goods require an invoice and a Certificate of Origin.

The sender and receiver details must be addressed with a valid street address in English. A Post Office Box address is not acceptable.

The sender is responsible for finding if the destination country may impose duties, taxes, brokerage fees or any other fees that may be applied on the item that is being sent. Please contact the consulate office of the country you are sending to or contact the Australia Post Customer Contact Centre on 13 76 78.

Customs duty

Please note the following:

• If the value of the contents is up to USD $34.50, no duty will be levied
• Value of goods cannot be understated and must be indicated for customs purposes only
• If value over 2 or ECI0 EUR, written confirmation required
• Senders must include phone number and one return address.
• Samples must be sent with typewritten invoice with detailed description of contents itemised by number of units, country of origin and, if textiles and shoes, fibre contents.

Before sending to this destination, it’s worth noting a few more details about our international delivery services.

From 1 January 2020, all international postal items addressed to Campione d’Italia will be delivered by the designated operator of Italy. Items must have the correct postcode of 22061. The previous Swiss postcode (6911) is no longer applicable. If received by the designated operator of Switzerland, the items will be treated as missent and forwarded to the designated operator of Italia for clearance where appropriate.

• International Express (carried via the EMS network) - Parcels deliver to all destinations
  International Express - Parcels have delayed delivery to rural destinations.
  International Express - Parcels are unable to be delivered to a Post Office Box or Poste Restante. The sender and receiver phone number are mandatory for these items using International Express service.
  
  Sending to San Marino? Simply use Italy as the destination country, but in the State/Province/Region field put in “San Marino” and the applicable Postcode which will help Post Italiane in ensuring it reaches the final destination.

  Shipments must be lodged at the counter at a participating Post Office (PDF 832kB) by the cut-off time, which may vary by outlet. Please fill out the online CN23 customs form prior to visiting the outlet.
  
  International Courier does not deliver to a Post Office Box or Poste Restante.
