Temporary suspension of Priority Letters

Due to the significant impacts of COVID-19, our Priority Letters service has been temporarily suspended from Monday, 1 June 2020 until further notice. Read more.

Regular and Express Post letters remain available.

During this time, Business customers can lodge bulk mail paid as Priority and this will be delivered faster than regular mail (Monday to Friday) under a temporary alternative Priority timetable for bulk mail.

Eligible bulk mail types include:

  • PreSort Letters – minimum volume of 300 barcoded articles of same weight step and size category
  • Print Post – minimum volume of 100 articles of the same title
  • Charity Mail – minimum of 300 barcoded articles of the same weight step and size category
  • Clean Mail – minimum of 300 articles of the same size category
  • Registered Post Imprint

Letters1 sent at the regular speed will take 1-2 business days longer than the estimated delivery times above, dependent on your posting origin and destination.

How to send your Priority Letter

1. Apply your stamp

Stick it in the top-right corner of your envelope.

2. Apply Priority label

It goes next to your postage stamp.

3. Post your letter

Any red street posting box or Post Office will do.

Want your Christmas or seasonal greeting card to arrive faster?

You can also add a 50c priority label next to your reduced rate Christmas stamp to speed things up.
 

1 Rigid or inflexible items such as keys, pens, USBs or CDs should never be sent in a regular paper envelope as they could easily be damaged by our sorting equipment or torn from the envelope and lost.
