Climate Council has worked to highlight the direct health risks of fossil fuels, particularly burning gas in the home to help build support for Australia’s transition from fossil fuels to clean energy. However, CC has had to rely on rented equipment for this. Climate Council will purchase air quality monitors to use in their work to highlight the negative impacts of fossil fuels and promote through social media.

The Sargood Foundation, Accessible Garden
The Sargood Foundation will create and maintain an accessible garden to be enjoyed by their community of people who live with life changing Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). The garden will enable those living with SCI to connect with others who share the same life experience and take part in activities together that are geared towards increasing independence, building self-confidence and forming connections to help with others to help with mental wellbeing.

Bonnie Support Services Ltd, Bonnie's Community Connections
The Bonnie's Community Connections program will enhance the support services provided to aid vulnerable women, including those facing domestic violence and homelessness. The funding will be used to arrange excursions and/or workshops aimed at enhancing participants' mental health and well-being.

Nambucca Valley Landcare Inc, Community Engagement Equipment Support
Nambucca Valley Landcare run workshops and various events that provide education and support to local landholders on sustainable agriculture and environment restoration. This project will enable the purchase of community engagement equipment such as a gazebo and projector to run these educational events. Currently they are borrowed from other organisations.

NSW Rural Fire Service – Central Coast Communications Brigade, Radio Communications Headsets Upgrade
NSW Rural Fire Service – Central Coast Communications Brigade will upgrade their Radio Communication Headsets in their emergency operations centre and their Forward Command Vehicle to enhance clarity for volunteers receiving messages from firefighters and rescue operators during incident call-outs.

Young Minds Thrive Inc, Empowering Futures: School Screening Program
Young Minds Thrive Inc is committed to improving the well-being of predominantly First Nations children in the Nambucca Valley by addressing high levels of developmental delays. Currently the area has developmental delays that are 2-3 times higher than the state and national average. Through collaboration with local primary schools, Young Minds Thrive provide screenings and assistance, striving to promote the success of every child. This grant will be utilised to cover the child development screening fees.

Buddharangsee Thai Community Language School Inc, Thai Classical Dance Workshop & Senior Luncheon
Buddharangsee Thai Community Language School Inc will host a Thai classical dance workshop for children. Students will learn fundamental steps, cultural significance, choreographies and symbolism, along with dressing, makeup and stage presence. The workshop culminates in a Graduation Day where students showcase skills to parents and senior citizens, followed by a Thai luncheon. This event fosters intergenerational cultural exchange and community connection.

Nuranurra Support Service, Plant The Seed Program
Nuranurra Support Service will run a "Plant The Seed" Program that nurtures youth leadership and resilience through personalised mentoring and group sessions. participants receive tailored support to navigate challenges and unlock their full potential. Each youth benefits from individualised attention from a dedicated mentor who serves as a guide and role model, fostering resilience, self-confidence and growth mindset. Group sessions provide a supportive environment for peer connection, skill-building and positive reinforcement.

North Coast Lesbian Alliance, Wellness Event
North Coast Lesbian Alliance will host a Wellness Day for lesbians in New South Wales' northern Rivers region, featuring speakers, empowerment and resilience workshops and activities supporting mental health and wellbeing. The funding will enable low income women to attend as well as support the day’s activities.

Hannah’s Bridge Wiradjuri Family Indigenous Corporation, Craft Meeting , Get Together
Hannah’s Bridge Wiradjuri Family Indigenous Corporation's aim is to connect with those who are in need in the community that feel isolated for many different reasons. The funding will enable to Coop to hold monthly meetings to connect with those feeling isolated in the community. They will create a welcoming and supportive environment where attendees can engage in conversation, learn new crafts, and share meals with others in the community and promote mental wellbeing.

RIVERTREE Film, RIVERTREE Film Screening
RIVERTREE Film will screen their film at the Yamba Cinema for the local community. The development of the film united over 1,500 people along the Clarence River, fostering a commitment to preserve waterways. The film follows lifelong friends Hayley Talbot and Dan Ross on a paddle down the river, and reveals local perspectives and will educate viewers on the threats posed by mining. It celebrates the Clarence River's journey through traditional lands, emphasising community, connection and conservation.

Afghan Women Support Association (AWSA), Yoga for Mental Wellbeing
Afghan Women Support Association (AWSA) will run an 8-week yoga program for Afghan women to support their mental health and wellbeing. Led by a qualified instructor, the program will offer child minders, enabling the women to fully participate and unwind during sessions. Following each yoga session, participants will gather for a shared meal to build relationships and form connections.

Arwarbukarl Cultural Resource Association Incorporated, Developing Indigenous Language IP for Indigenous High School Students
Arwarbukarl Cultural Resource Association will undertake a project designed for high school Indigenous students to learn their cultural heritage with the aid of computers and a recording station. The 'Developing Indigenous Lauguage IP for Indigenous Students' will help support their language journey in conjunction with the school curriculum.

Rotary Club of Morisset, Hanging Out With The Devils – Clearing Wildlife Enclosures
The Rotary Club of Morisset will take 10 volunteers to the Aussie Ark at Tomalla to assist in clearing weeds from enclosures housing Tasmanian Devils, Roufos Betongs, Long Nose Pottaroos and other macropod species who are endangered in the wild. Volunteers will work with rangers to clear invasive weeds to improve breeding conditions for the animals.

Gulgong Show Society will bring the founder of Tradies in Sight to the town to speak with local tradies. Tradies in Sight aims to raise awareness of mental health issues, unique to tradies and provide them with information and support.

Hallidays Point Men's Shed Inc will purchase materials to accommodate the introduction of Midcoast Assist disability clients to join and pariticipate in the Men's Shed. The aim is for people with a disability to gain knowledge, practical skills and engage in activities that will help normalise their lives and encourage connection for better mental wellbeing.

Huntingdon Parents and Citizens Association, Huntington Public School Garden Rejuvenation
Huntingdon Parents and Citizens Association will implement a project to rejuvenate the Huntingdon Public School vegetable gardens, plants, chicken coop and yarning circle. The project will supply students with more gardening equipment, aprons, seeds, ornaments and seating for the yarning circle. The yarning circle is used for Aboriginal students from Huntingdon and surrounding small schools to connect and learn about their culture.

Pambula Wetlands and Heritage Project Inc, Installing Dog Management Signage at Panboola Wetlands
Pambula Wetlands and Heritage Project Inc will install dog management signage in the sensitive wetland environment to articulate the importance of conserving and protecting bird habitat and other indigenous flora and fauna while engaging in recreational activities.

Samaritan's Purse, Disaster Recovery Service Project, Gold Coast
Samaritan's Purse will implement the Gold Coast Disaster Recovery Service project to assist families impacted by the severe storms in December 2023. The project will aim to assist at least 50 families with practical support including tree and debris removal, home repairs, and storm-related property maintenance.

Lifeline Eastern Suburbs (Bondi) will celebrate the contribution the community have made in suicide prevention and crisis support over the last two years. A community event will publicly recognise and honour dedicated volunteers and provide wellness activities, live speakers and resources to promote mental wellbeing.

The Elands Community Health and First Aid Centre, Mindfulness sign and Mural for Menal Health positivity
With guidance from the Manning Valley suicide network, the Elands Community Health and First Aid Centre project is part of a safety plan for suicide intervention. The project aims to create a mindfulness sign that will send a message of hope and care with support available at their mental health service. Two local artists will also be commissioned to paint a mural that represents hope, graititude and resilience at the Falls reserve.

Women's Advocacy Group, Norfolk Island, WAGNI Wednesday
The Women's Advocacy Group Norfolk Island (WAGNI) will run a monthly workshop over 10 months. The workshops will enable participants to build and develop connections while learning new skills such as financial literacy, women's health, mental health and internet safety in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Country Women's Association of NSW Menindee Branch, Environmentally Brightening Our Future
The Country Women's Association of NSW Menindee Branch will use their grant funding to update old fluoroescent lighting with LED lighting in their main hall. The hall is a vital community facility that is used by locals as well as holding a Community Catchup program offering a social outlet to community members to address mental health and isolation.

Heart Dogs NT, PAWS For Independence, Empowering Lives Through Service Dogs In The NT
"Paws for Independence" is an initiative run by Hear Dogs NT, providing specially trained service dogs to support first responders and individuals with invisible disabilities. These dogs offer companionship, reduce stress, support mental wellbeing, and promote independence. They also help foster community inclusivity and improve resilience and well-being.

Redland Community Centre, Fire Safe Futures: Youth Fire Awareness Day
The Redland Community Centre will host a Youth Fire Awareness Day event. The event focuses on fire safety and awareness for children through engaging talks and demonstrations from the SES and QFS, tailored activities and education packs.

Balaangala Community Group inc, Native Plants Workshop
Balaangala Community Group will host a Native Plants Workshop as Native species are hardy, require little water, provide a habitat for native animals and contribute to healthy ecosystems. A First Nations educator will share their knowledge about native plants and their contribution to a healthy eco-system. The workshop will include a "bush tucker" afternoon tea, and a guided garden tour.

Touch Of Hope, Technology and Books on The Streets
Touch of Hope's "Technology On The Streets" project will offer free access to educational books and technology resources for vulnerable groups, including those facing mental health issues, domestic violence, homelessness, and financial stress. Access to digital resources will enable them to access Centrelink, MyGov, Email Account, apply for jobs or just simply keep in touch with family.

Charleville & District Community Support Association Inc, Self-Care We Care Multicultural Festival
The Charleville & District Community Support Association will purchase ingredients for multicultural food dishes for the 'Self-Care We Care' Multicultural Festival. The festival is an annual locally led celebration fostering community unity and promoting mental health awareness. The event (which attracts more than 1,000 regional and remote community members) features diverse cultural activities, including food, performances, and traditional ceremonies.

Hope In A Suitcase – Fraser Coast, Suitcases
Hope in A Suitcase – Fraser Coast will purchase suitcases and duffle bags for children entering foster care; many of whom are experiencing mental wellbeing challenges. The group receives many donations of products and clothes but rarely receive bags or suitcases.

PTSD Dogs Australia Ltd, TechPaws: IT support for Assistance Dogs
PTSD Dogs Australia rescue dogs and trains them as assistance dogs for ADF Veterans and 000 First Responders who have been diagnosed with PTSD. Funds will be used to upgrade computers and software to enhance performance and efficiency, which will allow the organisation to better serve their vulnerable program participants.

Wildcare Australia Inc, Wildcare Volunteer Training Program
Wildcare Australia Inc will run a free Volunteer Training Program across South-East Queensland, covering diverse topics such as rescue, bird care and reptile handling. Funds will go towards venue hire fee for the regular workshops.

Toowoomba Hospice Grief & Loss Support Group provides inclusive emotional support to clients and families. Their services include 12 months of continued support for family members and significant others, along with an 8-week Grief & Loss Support Group to help families navigate the journey of grief. This grant will enable the Toowoomba Hospice Assoc. to acquire a laptop, enhancing their ability to deliver these vital services.

Mourilyan District Kindergarten, Flood Recovery
Mourilyan District Kindergarten will invest in replacing items that were lost due to severe flooding in their rural farming town in Far North QLD on December 17, 2023. The kindergarten is run by dedicated parents in the community. Funds will be used to replace the children's floor mat, Indigenous cushions and craft storage trolleys.

Trees for Evelyn and Atherton Tablelands (TREAT) is a community revegetation group who will purchase new heating pads, essential for increasing the success of propagating trees from cuttings – a critical aspect of their conservation efforts.

Kanyini Connections Ltd – Hoofbeats Sanctuary, Stretch & Soothe PTSD Program
Kanyini Connections Ltd – Hoofbeats Sanctuary will run a Stretch & Soothe PTSD Program to help alleviate common physical symptoms in women with PTSD. Scheduled from July to December 2024, it will support 24 women through weekly small-group classes led by an experienced Exercise Physiologist. The program aims to improve muscular tension, pain, emotional connections, self-confidence and overall symptoms of anxiety and depression, providing essential peer support for trauma recovery.

Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness Inc, Promoting Health and Wellbeing for Parents and Infants
During Infant Mental Health Week 2024 (July 10th-16th), the Parent Wellbeing Centre in North Brisbane will host an inclusive community event for expecting parents, caregivers and children. Local businesses and non-profits who specialise in infant and child well-being (such as hospital and health services, birth trauma, grief and loss, playgroups) will have the opportunity to showcase their services and resources.

Serving Our People (SOP) is an emergency relief support service whereby volunteers ensure prompt delivery of essentials like food, clothing, furniture, household items and emergency relief nationwide. CARDWELL SHED INC, Recycle to Survive
Cardwell Shed has established a recycling initiative to raise funds to help keep their Shed running. The idea for recycling bottles and cans started by word of mouth where friends and members started donating recyclable bottles and cans to the Shed. The initiative has facilitated conversations and connection between community members when dropping off recyclables and touring the Shed. The Cardwell Shed will invest in bins and security items to further support this initiative.

Social and Natural Project Inc, NSP's Conservation project for Hemiaspis Damelii-Grey Snake
The Social and Natural Project Inc. aims to conserve the Hemiaspis Damelii, a native Australian snake species mainly found in Queensland. The project involves training volunteers and experts, infield activities, captivity breeding programs and community engagement and awareness. Funds will be used for advertising campaign, snake handling equipment and awareness training.

Bulimba Community Centre Incorporated P L, Young At Heart 60+ Program
Bulimba Community Centre's 'Young at Heart 60+' program aims to enhance the well-being of participants through diverse activities which foster social connection and a positive attitude towards ageing. The project will offer group activities led by professionals targeting mental health improvement, with a focus on exercise, nutrition, arts, music and self-defense. The grant will fund weekly exercise sessions with a qualified trainer.

Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail, Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail Tree Planting Project
Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail will plant 35 advanced Dwarf Kurrajong trees along sections of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail. As the floral emblem of Monto and native to the area, these trees are well-suited to their climate and soil conditions. Planting trees along the rail trail will help restore native vegetation and ecosystems, provide a habitat for wildlife, improve soil health, and enhance biodiversity along the trail.

Friends of the Forest Inc., Community Threatened Species Awareness Day
Friends of the Forest will host a free educational event at the Blackbutt Hall for surrounding regional and rural community members. Wildlife carers will provide insight into caring for injured animals and preserving habitats, including fire management methods. A presenter from Geckoes Wildlife will offer live animal encounters for children and there will be local wildlife photography and children's art competitions to encourage community participation.

University of the Third Age Douglas Shire, Douglas Seniors Connect
University of the Third Age Douglas Shire will facilitate free activities for their senior residents and visitors. Each activity focuses on social connection and mental wellbeing through sharing knowledge, life skills, meals and working together. The grant funds will be used to subsidise the costs of three activities

1. Pizza in the Park – members and visitors share a casual evening meal at a local park or on the beach.
2. Men’s Coffee Morning – men get together for a chat and a cup of coffee at a local cafe on a weekly basis to promote social connection.
3. Trivia Lunch – members participate in a quiz while sharing lunch.

Inclusee, Inclusee Mental Health Focus Series
The Experiences2Empower (E2E) team hosts tailored online clubs developed in consultation with the Inclusee community to combat social isolation and promote mental well-being. This program will enable hiring of mental health experts to conduct informative sessions on mindfulness, stress management, nutrition and laughter yoga. Sessions will be interactive.

Port Douglas Community Service Network Inc, Supporting Disaster Recovery through an accessible website
Port Douglas Community Service Network will build a new website for the Douglas Shire community, improving accessibility post-Cyclone Jasper. Through engaging content, the revamped website will celebrate community resilience and unity, fostering a sense of belonging and simplifying access to support services.

Moreton Bay Discovery Centre, Moreton Bay Marine Turtle Display
Moreton Bay Marine Park hosts six of the world's seven marine turtle species, all of which are threatened. With the loggerhead turtle population declining by 50-80% in the past two decades, public education and awareness are crucial. The Moreton Bay Discovery Centre will invest in a life-sized model of a loggerhead turtle, habitat information, and educational resources on their lifecycles, diet, threats and conservation efforts. The public will be able to engage interactively with the display and be educated on what they can do to protect this endangered species.

Moggill Creek Catchment Management Group Inc, Moggill Creek Catchment Group (MCCG) Kids Day at the Cottage Event
Moggill Creek Catchment Group will host a free Kids' Day at the Cottage event, offering engaging activities and wildlife shows for children and adults to learn about local biodiversity. The event aims to educate and entertain visitors while promoting MCCG's volunteer activities.

Yalari, Student Technology Support
Yalari provides scholarships for disadvantaged Indigenous children from regional and remote communities to complete their secondary education. This grant will provide students with laptops and essential devices not covered by their tuition agreement, supporting equal learning opportunities and eliminating barriers to digital access.

endED Ltd, Community Connection Cafe
The House of Hope in Woombye has established a Community Connection Cafe open to all mental health-focused community groups on the Sunshine Coast. The cafe can be booked online for support, meetings, or connections and funds will enable the purchase of a laptop to manage bookings and ordering processes.

Rosies Youth Mission Inc., Weekly outreach program
Rosies Youth Mission provides a safe space for those who are experiencing homelessness to come together for social connection and enjoy a hot drink and meal. Funds will enable an upgrade to beverage dispensers and the purchase of disposable bowls and lids.

The School for Field Studies, Restoration of Cindercone to Mabi Rainforest
The School for Field Studies (SFS) will purchase seedlings and equipment for its restoration of the original Mabi rainforest vegetation on a cinder cone volcano in the Atherton Tablelands. The Mabi rainforest is home to endemic species like the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos and Southern Cassowaries. With only 4% of the original forest remaining, it's classified as endangered habitat.

Probus Club of Waterloo Bay Inc, social isolation
Probus Club of Waterloo Bay is a social club designed for Active Retirees. The club offers monthly meetings with engaging guest speakers and various local and extended outings to foster connection, mental wellbeing and friendships. Funds will go towards transport for the club to attend the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and a second day trip to Grantham.

Cabanda Home Care, Community Wellbeing
Cabanda Home Care will organise a morning tea focused on promoting mental well-being within the community, to be offered to their 52 residents as well as staff and the broader community. Participants will have access to mental health resources and information materials.

Little Haven Cooloola/Sunshine Coast Palliative Care Inc., Bereavement Support Group
Little Haven Cooloola/Sunshine Coast Palliative Care will run a 6-week bereavement support program, unique to the region and based on a narrative approach to grief. Participants will engage in group exploration of grief and legacy to strengthen mental health and wellbeing.

The Bush Bundle Inc., The Bush Bundle Christmas 2024
The Bush Bundle Inc select a Queensland town that has experienced hardship each year to receive a Bush Bundle during the festive season. The bush bundles are filled with self-care items, meticulously chosen and packed to bring joy to farmers, graziers and those living in regional, rural or remote towns. The bundles are personally delivered and foster connection, care and help ease loneliness. Given two challenging summer seasons, this year the funding will be to used to support to the Tara Neighbourhood Centre which is a vital community hub that provides essential services to the elderly, homeless and disadvantaged, as well as their local farmers and graziers.

BABI Youth and Family Service, Youth Counselling
BABI Youth and Family Service is solely community funded and provides one-to-one support for young people struggling with poor mental health, traumatic events or chronically stressful environment. The service can be accessed by young people 12 to 25 years of age living in the Wynnum/Manly and surrounding areas. The Youth Counselling program will develop care packs and offer activities and vouchers for youth who use the service.

National Servicemen's Association of Australia (QLD) Inc – Tablelands Branch, Bus Tour for Veteran's Health Week or end of year celebration
National Servicemen's Association of Australia (QLD) will organise an outing for veteran members for Veterans Health Week. Fund raising for bus trips has become increasingly difficult due to the age of the veterans. The day will include a morning tea, lunch and trip to visit a military tribute show, military muster or historical mystery tour. The aim is to aid reconnection with friends to help reduce social isolation for good mental health and wellbeing.

Fitzroy Community Hospice Ltd, Hospice Outdoor Seating to Facilitate Family Connection and Positive Grief Experiences
Fitzroy Community Hospice will purchase outdoor seating items to complement a newly established hospice garden for the facility opening in June 2024. The gardens will create a welcoming and calming space to facilitate family connection and positive grief experiences.

Capricornia Catchments Inc., Mobile Plastics Recycling Workstation Molds
Capriconia Catchments will purchase product moulds for use with their Mobile Plastics Recycling Workstaion (MPRW). The MPRW shreds plastic lids and other suitable plastics and turns them into recycled products such as pens, carabiners and phone cases using the moulds. The aim is to educate and re-skill a diverse range of community groups throughout Central Queensland about recycling and repurposing plastic products.

Crows Nest & District Men’s Shed, Metal Shop Tools
The Crows Nest & District Men’s Shed will purchase tools required for a metalwork area. The tools will enable members to work on community projects while fostering connection for better mental health.

Rotary Club of Rockhampton Fitzroy, Therapy Dolls
The Rotary Club of Rockhampton will purchase and distribute Therapy Dolls and Pets for Dementia patients in aged care homes and local hospitals. The sensation of holding a doll or pet has proven to be helpful for those who are withdrawn, restless, distressed or anxious, improving wellbeing and encouraging communication.

BTSTRAPS INC, Project Leather Tooling
Bootstraps will purchase leather working tools for their psycho-social based leatherwork training program provided in their recovery centre. The centre is largely attended by serving and ex-serving Military, Fire, Emergency, Corrective, Ambulance, Customs Services and Immigration personnel. Bootstraps aims to connect participants with like-minded individuals within the community for positive wellbeing outcomes.

Beach Matters, Sunshine Coast Beach Clean
Beach Matters will conduct an awareness campaign to create generational awareness of beach litter and its effects on beach marine life, dune and ocean health. The pilot campaign will roll out as an education program to 500 school aged children in coastal schools by taking part in beach cleans.

Drought Angels Ltd, Angels on the Road
Drought Angels assess applications from disaster affected farming families for financial, in-kind and mental health support. The Angels on the Road project will see the funding enable an Angel to visit a cluster of vulnerable QLD farmers in need of additional support, providing an opportunity for farmers to open up about their challenges and enable Angels to identify suitable referral pathways to services or supports a farmer may benefit from.

The Mindful Harvest Inc., Green Connection: The Veteran Healing Community
The Mindful Harvest will run a community workshop on sustainable farming aimed at veterans with mental health challenges. Participants will find support and camaraderie in a community setting encouraging mental wellness through reintegration into society and a path to healing and personal growth.

Emerald Pottery Club Inc., Hands on Earth Healing
A hands-on approach to begin healing of the heart, The Emerald Pottery Club will engage a member of the Raku firing team from Ceramic Arts Queensland to lead on an art therapy style pottery workshop. Participants will come together leading up to the workshop to build pieces of pottery for firing, providing an opportunity to connect with members of the community and fostering good mental wellbeing.

Brisbane Jets Swimming Club Inc will run a SwimSoul workshop to promote wellbeing in young swimmers. Activities covering topics from nutrition, body awareness and journalling for self-awareness and motivation, combined with inspirational speakers who talk about the benefits of swimming for mental health and the broader community, SwimSoul aims to provide our swimmers the skills to build resilience and promote self-esteem.

Nerang Men’s Shed Inc, Purchase of 4 solar ventilators

Breamlea Coastcare works with local land managers to remove weeds and restore native vegetation in wetlands and dunes. The Adopt a Breamlea Patch pilot project aims to mentor participating residents to identify and remove invasive plants and replace with indigenous plants. Five Adopter households will be given a $100 voucher to purchase plants for their patch and be encouraged to water and weed it regularly. Progress will be documented, and the project expanded if it achieves its objectives.

Project Possum aims to engage school aged children in educational activities to help them understand the natural environment and wildlife specifically related to the endangered Leadbeater's Possum.
