Australia Post’s peak-me-up coffee van delivers energy boost to busy businesses

You’ve just powered through a morning of packing and lodging a huge volume of orders. As more orders stream in, you know that a big afternoon awaits - again.   

What you need is an energy boost to get through yet another long and exhausting day that’s typical of peak season. How does a free coffee by Australia Post and a leading coffee roaster sound?

This peak, we’ve roped in Merlo Coffee, our own business customer, to serve up their brew in our very first mobile coffee van.

The aptly named peak-me-up coffee van will make its way through metro and regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland from 7 October to 1 December 2024.

A sip of energy, a moment of respite 

Around three-quarters of coffee drinkers in Australia have at least one cup a day, with some consuming three or more.¹ In FY24 alone, Australians consumed over 2.1 million sixty-kilogram bags of coffee,¹ showing just how important this ritual is for so many people.

This caffeine hit can be a big help in maintaining productivity, especially during the busiest times of the year for businesses. But the peak-me-up van isn’t just about the coffee.

“We know very well how overwhelming peak season can be for businesses because we go through it too,” says Australia Post General Manager, Enterprise Brand & Retail Marketing, Aimee Dixon.

“We really wanted to find five minutes with our customers where we can all have a quick break. It’s nice to take a breather before getting right back into it.”

It’s also about delivering a moment of support, connection and appreciation during peak season. Aimee says, “Australia has so many incredible businesses that have held up our economy and our eCommerce industry over the last year. This is one small way of saying ‘we see you and thank you’.”
