Using our tracking service

Using our tracking service

Keep track of all your deliveries - on all your devices - using our handy tracking service.

What you can do

Get status updates and delivery date estimates,* just by entering your tracking number. But that's just for starters.

To take your tracking to the next level, simply log in to your MyPost account.

Do more than track - take control with MyPost

  • Save the items you're tracking to see them all in one place
  • Get email, SMS and push notifications along the way
  • Redirect your parcel to a different delivery address, while it's in transit^
  • Let us leave your parcel in a safe place when you're not home*

How it works

1. Enter your tracking number

Do it straight from our homepage or use our mobile app.

2. Check the delivery status

See where it is and when it's likely to arrive.*

3. Get updates on the go

Stay in the know with email and SMS tracking notifications.

What you'll see

How your delivery gets from A to B depends on the service used to send it.

The tracking updates you get will vary too, depending on:

  • the service used,
  • how the item was posted (over the counter or in a street posting box), and
  • how it's being delivered (by a postie, courier or international carrier).

Here's 2 common examples:

Tracking examples
Parcel sent within Australia via street posting box Parcel sent overseas, posted over the counter

Parcel sent within Australia via street posting box

  1. Processed through Australia Post facility
  2. With Australia Post for delivery today
  3. Delivered

Parcel sent overseas, posted over the counter

  1. Received by Australia Post
  2. Arrived at facility in destination country
  3. Delivered

If we hit a snag along the way, you'll see what's happening and whether your delivery is likely to be delayed.

Delivery date estimates

Status updates are handy, but you just want to know when your delivery should arrive. We get it.

That's why you'll get an 'estimated delivery by' date for many domestic parcels,* as soon as we know they're on the move.

Email and SMS notifications

Too busy to check on your delivery? With tracking notifications, our updates find you.

Just the important stuff, of course. Like when your items are in transit, due for delivery that day, awaiting collection or delivered.

Two ways to switch them on

When you track

For deliveries within Australia, just enter the tracking number and save the item to your MyPost track list.

From there, you can manage your notifications and even subscribe others to email updates.

When you send

If you're sending with a tracked service, provide your email address or mobile number when you pay for postage - either in-store or online via Click and Send or eParcel.

You can even provide the recipient's email address and we'll keep them posted instead.

To get push notifications from your phone or tablet, download the Australia Post App and switch notifications on in your settings menu.
