Manage unaddressed mail

If you don’t want to receive unaddressed mail, flyers or catalogues, you can apply a 'No Junk Mail' or 'Addressed Mail Only' sign to your letterbox. Our Posties are instructed to not deliver unaddressed mail to letterboxes with this signage.1

Material that is deemed political, educational, religious and charitable is exempt from ‘No Junk Mail’, according to standards developed by the Australian Catalogue Association.

Addressed promotional mail

To stop receiving addressed mail from a business, you can register on the Association for Data-driven Marketing & Advertising's (ADMA) 'Do Not Mail' register.

Registrations only relate to ADMA member companies so may not stop all unwanted promotional mail. To stop receiving mail from a specific business, contact the business directly and advise them to take your name off their mailing list.

Australia Post delivers approximately ten per cent of unaddressed mail to Australian households. We can’t guarantee that other unaddressed mail delivery companies will take note of any signs or stickers on your letterbox.
