Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from Sudan due to civil unrest.

India
From May 2024, India customs has imposed a Know Your Customer (KYC) legal requirement, which mandates that government-recognised identity and address proof must be presented to customs during shipment clearance for items sent via International Courier to India. To avoid customs delays and for a smooth clearance process, ensure you inform your recipient to complete the KYC process with the customs authority. Japan
16 August 2024: There may be delays for items sent to and from Japan, as Typhoon Ampil is affecting delivery services.

Thailand
19 September 2024: Items sent to and from Thailand may experience delays due to heavy rains and flooding across the country. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services.

Bosnia and Herzegovina
7 October 2024: Items sent to and from Bosnia and Herzegovina may experience delays due to heavy rainfall and flooding resulting in road closures. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services.

Greece
19 November 2024: Items sent to and from Greece may experience delays due to planned union strikes on 20 November, which will impact postal operations and delivery services.

Italy
14 November 2024: Items sent to and from Italy may experience delays due to adverse weather conditions affecting several regions across Sicily. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services in this area.

Poland
16 September 2024: Items sent to and from Poland may experience delays due to heavy rainfalls and flash flooding across its south-west regions resulting in road closures. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services.

Russia
Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from the Russian Federation.

The temporary suspension will remain in place until Australia Post can ensure compliance with all relevant sanctions requirements, and is subject to the availability of transport to and from Russia.

Spain
1 November 2024: Items sent to and from Spain may experience delays due to severe damage, flooding and road closures caused by extreme weather events. This is significantly impacting postal operations and delivery services.

Ukraine
There may be delays to letters and parcels sent to and from the Ukraine due to:

• limited airline capacity
• some postcodes being currently inaccessible
• planned power outages

There are no other current updates for Europe.
 

Iran
14 October 2024: Due to limited flight capacity, there are temporary service disruptions in place for items sent to and from Iran. Service disruptions will remain in place until Australia Post can guarantee availability of transport to and from Iran, and is able to deliver items. Customers who have recently sent items to Iran may have their items returned. We apologise for any inconvenience and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Lebanon
24 September 2024: Items sent to and from Lebanon may experience significant delays due to limited flight capacity.

Canada
15 November 2024: Items sent to and from Canada may experience significant delays due to planned union strikes, which will impact postal operations and delivery services.

United States of America
11 October 2024: Items sent to and from the United States of America may experience delays due to widespread flooding and damage in the south-eastern state of Florida as a result of Hurricane Milton. This is significantly impacting the postal operations and delivery services in this area.

Peru
From May 2023, due to compliance issues with national legislation governing items into Peru, SERPOST is only accepting items transported by air. Sea Mail will be suspended until further notice.
