How it works
Mail Redirection is designed to make moving home or business easy. Once set up, your mail will be forwarded from your old address directly to your new address, leaving you free to focus on your move.
- Redirect eligible mail and parcels for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
- Add up to 6 names to your application (e.g. people you live with, your legal name before marriage, chosen English name or alias).
- Opt-in to notify selected banks, insurers, energy providers and telcos of your new address4.
- Extend your service, change or cancel at any time.
Note: If you’re in charge of a deceased estate, or are a victim of domestic violence or a natural disaster within Australia, you may be eligible for a free 12-month mail redirection.

A Home office Mail Redirection bundles the redirection of your personal mail and the mail for your home business, trust or Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF)3.
Please apply at the Post Office with proof of your identity showing your residential mailing address and:
- For a home office business: a business certificate statement or tax statement.
- For a trust (individual or company trust): a trust statement with your mailing address.
- For a self-managed super fund: an SMSF statement with your residential mailing address.
Note: We cannot redirect mail from PO Boxes.

5 Please apply for your International Mail Redirection at the Post Office. Some mail can't be redirected overseas, including Registered Post, Cash on Delivery, Parcel Post, Express Post and items which require customs documentation. We are not able to redirect mail from an overseas address to an Australian address. Please refer to the local postal service in the country you would like your mail redirected from.
