The COVID-19 crisis has severely impacted the global aviation industry, with fewer passenger flights to transport goods (or the cancellation of flights altogether) in most countries.
While we’ve managed to secure regular air capacity since the initial tough effects of the pandemic in April 2020, the cost of air capacity remains high. We’ve been absorbing this cost since April, but we can’t continue to do so with no clear ending in sight.
So that we can keep delivering, we need to introduce this temporary International Linehaul Surcharge to our standard freight rates for our Contract customers to partially recover associated costs. We assure you that we’ll review the rates by destination zone on a monthly basis, and adjust them as needed, until we’re able to restore our outbound airfreight services to those we had in place before the pandemic.
