Last year, one of those grants went to Virtual Voyagers, an award-winning program in Port Macquarie (📍2441). It pairs students from Heritage Christian School - Port Macquarie, NSW with older residents at Garden Village Port Macquarie using VR to travel together from ancient Greece to wildlife regions around the world 🌏
Those journeys then carry into real-world projects like boat-building, mural painting, and the local art trail.
It's a simple idea doing two things at once: giving students a real role in their community, and giving older residents company, conversation, and something to look forward to each week ❤️
