South Australia’s eCommerce market continues to grow, with locals spending $5.4 billion shopping online last year. That demand is changing what customers expect from delivery - faster, simpler and more reliable service, at greater scale.
That’s why yesterday was such an important milestone for Australia Post as we broke ground on our new Adelaide Parcel Super Hub - a $500 million investment and our largest ever build in South Australia.
Built on the iconic former Holden site, the facility will help local businesses keep pace with rising online demand by improving parcel processing capacity, network flexibility and the reliability of deliveries across the state, now and into the future.
Once complete, it will be the largest facility in our network - around the size of 12 Adelaide Ovals - and our first fully combined Australia Post and StarTrack site, with the ability to process up to 400,000 parcels a day.
For customers, that means a more seamless delivery experience. For businesses, it means stronger infrastructure to support growth, respond to peak demand and compete in a market being reshaped by global marketplaces and increasing last-mile competition.
This investment also brings advanced technology into our network, helping reduce manual handling, support safer ways of working and build the future skills we need as customer expectations continue to evolve.
