What are Flat Rate Satchels suitable for?

Flat Rate Satchels, with postage paid, are suitable for sending items up to $100 in value. If your item is valued over $100, you should purchase Extra Cover – it provides loss or damage cover from $100 up to $5000.

If your parcel is lost or damaged, and you haven’t purchased Extra Cover, compensation of up to $100 and a postage refund may be payable.2 Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, Australia Post does not accept liability for any consequential or indirect loss or damage arising due to any failure related to our service. Neither the cover included with this service nor the purchase of Extra Cover limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Sending under 5kg? If it packs, it posts.

Our Flat Rate Satchels and boxes are part of Australia Post’s new If It Packs, It Posts packaging range.

That means you can now pack up to 5kg in any of our Flat Rate satchels and boxes and you’ll pay the flat rate associated with that packaging size. There are four If It Packs, It Posts sizes, each with its own flat rate.
