Huy Truong arrived in Australia as a refugee and is now an entrepreneur and investor dedicated to supporting refugees and migrants to succeed.
He is Founder and Chair of Thrive Refugee Enterprise, a not-for-profit organisation that helps refugees achieve economic self-reliance.
Huy also holds a portfolio of roles across the not-for-profit, government and commercial sectors, including:
- Managing Director of York Avenue Investment
- Chair of the Truong Family Foundation
- Chair or Director of several investee companies, including Infrastructure Matters, Datamesh Group, Mint Payments, DS3 Global and ALI Group
- Board Director of the Migrant Justice Institute and the Centre for Policy Development
- Member of the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations’ advisory group
Huy’s previous roles include Chair of Save the Children’s Impact Fund Investment Committee and member of the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs’ Settlement Advisory Council. He was also part of the Australian delegation to the United Nations Global Refugee Forum.
Huy began his career at Boston Consulting Group before moving into entrepreneurship and investment.
He holds an honours degree in economics from Monash University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Huy lives in Melbourne with his wife and three children and is passionate about building a confident, united and progressive Australia.
