Prohibitions

The following items are prohibited from importation, meaning they won't be allowed to enter the destination country, territory or region.

Ordinary, registered or insured mail

Nepal reserves the right not to accept, in accordance with their international legislation, ordinary, registered or insured mail containing coins, bank notes, securities payable to the bearer and travellers cheques.

Nepal does not accept ordinary and registered letters containing articles subject to customs duty.

Import restrictions

If an item is subject to import restrictions, it means that provisions must be met before it will be released from customs in the destination country, territory or region.

Nepal does not accept Registered items or insured items containing currency notes or coins, except by special agreement to that effect.

Prohibitions for International Registered Post - Letters includes; coins, bank notes, securities of any kind payable to the bearer, travellers’ cheques, platinum, gold or silver whether manufactured or not, precious stones, jewels or other valuable articles.
