Now you can change your Australian cash at over 3,500 participating Post Offices across Australia. Convert coins to notes, notes to coins, or a mixture of both – all for a flat fee.

You can change more than $1,000, but this will be processed as separate transactions. For example, if you’re converting $1,200, the first $1,000 would cost $8.50. The remaining $200 would be processed separately at a fee of $4.50.
Note, if you’re a NAB customer, you won’t be charged a transaction fee as NAB pays for this service for their customers. Just present your NAB debit/credit card for a fee free transaction.
How to change your cash at the Post Office
- To convert coins to notes, first sort your coins into the correct coin bag denomination (coin bags are available at Post Offices).
- Take your coin bags / cash notes1 to the counter.
- Request the denomination you need.2
