It was initially held at the Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground, now known as the Albert Reserve Tennis Centre, before moving to its current location at Melbourne Park in 1988. The Australian Open is managed by Tennis Australia and is the first of the four annual Grand Slam tennis championships, along with the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. Since the Open Era, which began in 1969 and allowed professional players to compete, the record for most men’s singles titles is held by Novak Djokovic, who has won 10 times. The 2025 men’s singles champion is Jannik Sinner.
