Postcards are a great way to keep in contact with family and friends. Prepaid postcards can be posted from any red post box located in Australia or at your local Post Office. They can be sent domestically, or worldwide. No stamp is required as the prepaid postcard includes postage, making it easier for you to stay in touch.
The colourful Big Galah perches in front of the Halfway Across Australia Gem Shop at Kimba, a town on the Eyre Highway at the top of Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. It is located on the traditional lands of the Barngarla people. At eight metres high, the big bird is an eye-catching reminder of the pink-and-grey cockatoos common in the region. The fibreglass-over-metal Big Galah was built over 18 months in 1993 by the then-owners of the gem shop to attract passing motorists. The decorative artwork on the exterior was created by Karen Carr and Jill Pantiyasa. Tourists today flock to the Big Galah to be photographed as "one galah in front of another", the bird's name being Australian slang for "idiot".
