Like many postal organisations worldwide, we’re keeping a close eye on advice about coronavirus (COVID-19) living on mail and parcels, to ensure the safety of our people and customers.

The Australian Government has advised that the risk of coronavirus infection from handling goods is considered extremely low. On most dry surfaces, coronaviruses die within a few hours as secretions dry out.

The World Health Organisation has also advised it is safe to receive international letters or packages as, from previous analysis, coronaviruses do not survive long on objects, such as mailed items.

Globally to date, there has been no recorded case that someone has contracted coronavirus from handling mail or parcels.

If your enquiry is about the delivery of essential medication, please contact us as soon as you think your item is running late or missing.

For all other domestic deliveries, please wait until 10 business days after the expected delivery date before making a late item enquiry. You can get the expected delivery date by tracking your parcel using the AusPost app or our online tracking tool.

Once we’ve received it you’ll be able to track the parcel using the AusPost app or our online tracking tool. Please wait until 15 business days after the expected delivery date before making a late item enquiry.

Deliveries sent overseas

Please get in touch if your:

International Courier or Express item hasn't arrived within 1 business day of the estimated delivery time
International Standard item hasn't arrived within 10 business days of the estimated delivery time
International Economy or Airmail item hasn't arrived within 3 months of posting
International Post Registered item hasn’t arrived within 25 business days of posting
