If you don't have the documents required to complete an online identity verification, you'll need to visit a Post Office to access additional document options.

To successfully verify your identity online using an international passport, you must hold a valid Australian visa. In some cases, an Australian visa can be issued electronically upon arrival in Australia (this applies to New Zealand citizens visiting Australia).

If you have a valid visa, and are still having trouble verifying your identity, try the following:

• If you’re a dual citizen with both an Australian and an international passport, you can only verify your identity using your Australian passport. Any visa linked to your international passport is not valid for online verification.
• If you’ve been issued a new passport while in Australia, you may need to update your visa details with the passport issuing authority.

If you’re having trouble verifying your driver licence, here are some things to check for:

• Make sure your licence isn’t cancelled, inactive or refused.
• NSW driver licence holders need to enter their licence number which is located under the address. This is different from the card number.
• For older VIC driver licences, the card number located on the back is in very small print, so please double check it has been entered correctly on the form.
