You might be eligible to lease a PO Box for a reduced rate if you don't receive a mail delivery to your home address. 

If you think you might be eligible, visit us in store to sign up. We don't offer reduced rates online. 

Reduced rates aren't available for: 

• houseboats or other water vessels
• addresses located on private roads (such as caravan parks, gated communities, retirement villages or defence force barracks)
• concession card holders, unless their address is in an area that does not receive any mail delivery.

They can be addressed to a PO Box but what we'll do is:

• leave a notification card in the PO Box or send you an email, app or SMS notification, to let you know that you can collect your delivery from the counter with suitable ID, or
• where available, we'll leave a key in your PO Box for you to collect your parcel from a red door PO Box.
• Customers who have selected Authority to Deliver in their PO Box options can have parcels and mail delivered directly into their PO Box, and the date and time of delivery along with your PO Box number will be recorded in lieu of your signature. Note that letters sent using Registered Post services will still need to be collected separately.

If you’re parcel isn’t accepted at the Post Office because it doesn’t meet the size and weight specifications or because it is visibly damaged, the third party carrier will need to liaise with you directly to arrange an alternative delivery or resolve the issue.

No. Third party parcel limits are reset at the commencement of the PO Box Billing year and do not roll-over.

Opening hours vary between Post Offices. Standard trading hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm – excluding public holidays. However, some outlets may be open shorter or longer hours. Some outlets also trade on weekends.

You will be charged a fee of $3 for each additional third-party article received above the 50-parcel limit within the PO Box billing year. This will be charged when you collect your item and you can pay using any payment method accepted in store.

We’ll put it in one of our red door PO Boxes and leave the key in your PO Box. This service is available at over 1,200 of our PO Box sites. If this service isn’t available, we’ll leave you a card letting you know to collect your parcel from the nearest Post Office.

A third party carrier is any provider of parcel delivery services, other than Australia Post or StarTrack.

In order for parcels to be delivered to a PO Box, they must meet the standard Australia Post requirements: maximum 105cm in length, maximum 140cm around the girth, maximum weight of 22kg, and have no visible signs of damage.

If your parcel is carried by a third-party carrier and is lost in transit before it is accepted by Australia Post for delivery to your PO Box, you will need to contact the sender or third party carrier directly.

To update your PO Box details online, follow these steps:

1. Log in or sign up: Get a MyPost account for free or log in to your existing account.
2. Link your PO Box: After logging in, if you haven’t already, you can link your PO Box to your MyPost account from the collection points page.
3. Manage your account: Click your name at the top of the screen, then select "Manage Account" from the menu. Here, you can update your personal information, such as your email and phone number.
4. Manage your preferences: Go to the collection points page and select "Manage" on your PO Box tile. Here, you can update preferences like notification settings and lease extensions.

If you don't want to update your details online or you have a Business PO Box, visit us in-store with a valid ID to update your account.

Select the free Mail2Day option with your PO Box service and you’ll receive an email from Australia Post whenever there’s a parcel or mail in your PO Box, regardless of carrier.

Yes. We can send you an email. To set this up, manage your PO Box preferences online by logging into or creating a free MyPost account. You'll find the PO Box section under Deliveries > Delivery addresses.

You can also ask over the counter at a Post Office, and they'll do it for you, just bring proof of ID.
