Product overview
- Coloured three-coin set
- Created by the Royal Australian Mint in partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee
Capture the excitement of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with this coloured, three-coin set created by the Royal Australian Mint in partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee. In a first for the Olympic Games, there will be an equal number of female and male athletes competing across 35 sports; including gymnastics, skateboarding, equestrian, water polo, athletics and surfing. Australia will be represented by around 470 of the country’s best athletes in Paris, which is only the second city to host the Olympic Games three times. There are three coins, all the coins feature a circular coloured design featuring Australian wattle. Each coin also features a different word, the Australian Olympic Committee pillars ‘COMMUNITY’ and ‘OLYMPISM’, and the third coin the word ‘ALLEZAUS’. The phrase AllezAUS comes from the popular European sports chant ‘Allez’ meaning ‘Let’s Go/Come On’. The ‘COMMUNITY’ coin features the Australian Olympic Committee logo, the ‘OYMPISM’ coin features a Parisian Boxing Kangaroo, the iconic team mascot, BK, given a Paris flair with a beret. And the ‘ALLEZAUS’ coin features mascot BK Break Dancing. Break Dancing will be the only new sport introduced at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
