Overview

 

With the growth in online shopping, more parcels are being sent than ever before - which increases the need for a returns solution. With our flexible and hassle-free parcel returns service, you can make it easy for customers to return your parcels.

We offer 2 returns options:

  • eParcel returns - for domestic and international returns (New Zealand to Australia returns only)
  • Return Paid parcels - for domestic returns only
     

eParcel Returns

eParcel Returns enables you to manage your returns and delivery through eParcel, Australia's largest business-to-consumer parcel delivery service. eParcel is available if you send over 1,000 parcels a year.

Features - domestic

  • Convenience - customers can either contact you to arrange a return, use the label you've sent with the item, or go online to arrange the return themselves
  • Packaging - specify Australia Post packaging for your returns, or use our handy returnable satchels
  • Select who pays - choose whether you or your customer pays for return postage
  • Easy to return - over 19,000 returns locations Australia-wide (post offices and street posting boxes)
  • Tracking - available in selected locations for peace of mind
  • Speed of delivery - choose regular Parcel Post or Express Post
  • Print at Post - if your customer does not have access to a printer they can print their returns label by visiting a participating post office*

Features - international#

  • Convenience - customers can contact you to arrange a return
  • Packaging - use our handy returnable satchels
  • Select who pays - choose whether you or your customer pays for return postage
  • Available countries - international returns are currently only available for articles to be returned from New Zealand to Australia. More countries will be available soon
  • Easy to return - customers in New Zealand can now easily return parcels at over 1,000 New Zealand post offices
  • Tracking - available on Express Courier International returns only
  • Speed of delivery - choose regular Airmail or Express Courier International

If you need a basic, untracked returns solution, the Return Paid parcels service makes it easy for your customers to return items to you.

eParcel Returns - convenient, easy, trackable

eParcel Returns

Available to our eParcel customers, eParcel Returns are an easy way for you to enable your customers to return parcels within Australia and New Zealand and track their progress online.

Returns are an important part of any eCommerce solution. Simplify the returns process for your customers and select a returns method that works for your business.

If you send over 1,000 parcels a year, there are 3 returns options available through eParcel: 

1.  Use label provided

Create a returns label using eParcel, and then include it with your customers' parcel. This is the most customer-friendly option your business can use. Everything the customer needs is provided and you're only charged if the customer lodges the return.

You can also send the item in our returnable satchels. If the customer needs to return the item, they place it back in the same satchel, re-seal, apply the return label and lodge in a street posting box or at a post office. Simple!

2. Contact you

Ask your customer to contact you when they want to arrange a return. Then use eParcel Online to email a return label for them to print, package and post, or arrange for the item to be collected.

If your customer cannot print the label at home, they can visit a participating post office and have it printed in-store*.

3. Go online

If you'd like your customers to arrange the return themselves, direct them to print their own return label via an Australia Post hosted website.

International Returns

New Zealand customers purchasing from your business in Australia can now easily facilitate a return. Returns from more countries will be available soon.

3 sizes of returnable satchels We've made packaging returns even more convenient for you and your customer with our returnable satchels.

Simply send items in our returnable satchel. If customers need to return the item, they place it back in the same satchel, re-seal it, apply the return label, and lodge in a street posting box or at a post office.

Return Paid parcels - keep your customers happy

Return Paid parcels

With our Return Paid parcels service, you only pay for the parcels that are returned to you and the cost is charged to your Australia Post credit account. It's easy - just give your Return Paid number to your customers.

How it works

  • We give you a unique Return Paid number, for you to pass on to your customers
  • Your customers use the number when they lodge the return parcel at a Post Office or in a street posting box
  • Parcels are counted and weighed before being delivered to you
  • Your Australia Post credit account is debited accordingly

Paying for the service

Return Paid Parcels are paid through an Australia Post business credit account.

There's a $100 annual fee (per Return Paid number) and your monthly statement will outline the Return Paid volume and charges for that month. You can pay the statement with either cash, a debit card or a credit card.

Get started!

  1. If you don't already have one, open an Australia Post business credit account
  2. Download and complete a Reply Paid/Return Paid application form (120kb) and email it to us at replypaid@auspost.com.au or mail it to the address listed on the application form
  3. You'll receive a customer acceptance advice and advice of Return Paid address within 3 business days. We'll also send an advice to the delivery office processing your parcels, so they can keep track of the volume of articles your Return Paid number receives.
  4. We'll count the number of items returned on your Return Paid number and send you a monthly statement.
