Sorting your mail

To help you sort your mail in a way that allows you to access the best postage discounts possible, we can provide you with:

  • Mail trays - we will supply you with the required amount of Australia Post mail trays for you to bundle your mail into. Contact your lodgement facility to order mail trays.
  • Sort Plans - depending on which one of the bulk mail delivery services you have chosen, a sort plan will detail predetermined postcode ranges for you to sort your mail into.
  • Mail tray labels - are specific labels for our mail trays that identify the destination of your mail. Contact your lodgement facility to order mail tray labels.

Mail trays

Your sorted mail needs to be packed into Australia Post mail trays - we can supply you with small or large trays depending on your mail volume. We'll provide you with as many trays as you require, free of charge.

Sort plans

Sort plans detail our predetermined postcode ranges in which you bundle your mail into. Each delivery service has its own sort plan:

Mail tray labels

Mail trays are required to have specific labels on each tray that will identify the destination of your mail.

You can print your own labels as you need then using our Tray Label Management System (TLMS) or you can order them from your lodgement facility.

Our label specification details the requirements for all tray labels. This document is subject to change as label formats are reviewed and modified from time to time to improve readability.

Visa/Tray Label Management System (TLMS)

We provide Tray Label Management System (TLMS) software free to bulk mail customers wanting to print their own tray labels.

Use of the software is subject to licensing conditions and the allocation of a unique Application ID for each installation (the software must be installed on each individual computer being used to print labels).

This 6-digit ID allows our:

  • technical Support Centre to track your queries and requests
  • mail centres to contact you if your label quality is affecting the processing of your bulk mail.

How do I get TLMS installed?

Simply download and complete the Visa TLMS application form (pdf 174kb).

Once installed the Visa TLMS User Guide will help get you started on using your labelling software.

Blank stock

We also provide blank stock, available in boxes of 10,000 labels. The labels have a special layer of heat sensitive material that allow for superior contrast for clearer barcodes and text. You can order these through your lodgement facility.

How do I order my tray labels?

Pre-printed labels

We can provide you with pre-printed label stock at no cost. Simply download the order form and take it to your lodgement facility.

Label pockets

Tray labels must be placed in the pocket provided on letter trays. Our adhesive pockets have a clear matt front through which the reference number may be seen.
