Just make sure you have details of your car and driving record on hand.

You can choose to pay in monthly instalments or with one easy annual payment. If you prefer, you can also set up a monthly direct debit from your bank account.

In most cases, your insurance cover can start immediately, as soon as your policy purchase is complete. Alternatively, you may wish to choose a later date for your cover to begin.

Do your car insurance policies cover me if I use my car for private and business use?

Why do I need to provide information about my driving record, past accidents or claims when asked relating to car insurance?

Full disclosure of all details relating to your driving record, past accidents or claims is essential for an insurer to accurately assess your risk and calculate the correct premium. Not disclosing any relevant details can lead to a claim being paid only in part, not being paid at all, or your policy being cancelled.

Do your car insurance policies cover me for damage or theft of personal effects in my car insurance?

Our comprehensive car insurance covers damage to your personal belongings - known as personal effects - resulting from a collision involving your car. This includes child car seats or baby restraints (limits apply). See the Product Disclosure Statement for full details. Please note, our car insurance policies do not cover you for theft of personal items left in your car.

In terms of car insurance, what is the difference between a Rating 1, No Claims Discount (NCD) and No Claim Bonus (NCB)?

No Claims Discount (NCD): (sometimes also known as No Claims Bonus or NCB by other insurers) is a scale we use to reward safe and experienced drivers with a discount on their premium.

Your NCD is calculated based on your years of claim-free driving experience. For each year that you don't make a claim, you receive an additional discount on your insurance premium, up to a maximum of 5 years NCD. Rating 1: refers to the maximum NCD discount achieved after 5 or more years of claim-free driving.

If I buy Australia Post car insurance, how can I protect my Rating 1?

You can protect your Rating 1 or No Claims Discount (NCD) by selecting the NCD protection option with your comprehensive car insurance policy. This lets you have one car insurance claim for every 12-month period of your Australia Post policy, or up to 2 claims in 3 years without affecting your Rating 1. Please note, even without NCD protection, your NCD or Rating 1 won't be affected after a window glass claim, or if the other vehicle in a collision is entirely at fault and the driver is identified to us.
