The much-loved comic cartoon duo of Tom and Jerry was created in 1940 and has since featured in countless short animations, full-length feature films, comic books, video games and even a stage musical. Tom, a black-and-white cat, constantly pursues Jerry, a clever, wily little mouse, who inevitably outwits his feline foe. Tom and Jerry are celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Rat (also called Year of the Mouse), which begins on 25 January 2020. Like those born in the Year of the Rat, Jerry is imaginative, generous, quick-tempered and intelligent. Rat years over the last century were 1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996 and 2008.
