The King's Birthday Sheetlet of 10 Stamps
Product overview
- Stamp issue marking The King's Birthday
- Contains sheetlet of 10 stamps
His Majesty King Charles III celebrates his 76th birthday on 14 November 2024. Charles was born in 1948 at Buckingham Palace during the reign of his maternal grandfather, King George VI. He acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022 and was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023. Since 1980, Australia Post has honoured the monarch’s birthday with a postage stamp issue released on the date of the queen or king’s actual birthday. This issue features a photographic portrait of Charles taken at Buckingham Palace in December 2023, during the recording of His Majesty’s Christmas message to the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. In the message, Charles communicated his personal sentiments, including his hopes for world peace and our shared obligations to protect the Earth and the natural world. The portrait on the minisheet was taken in November 2023 during Charles’ attendance at COP28 UAE, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai.
