Kalkadoon Dreaming Stamp Pack
Product overview
- Includes the stamps from the Kalkadoon Dreaming issue
- Presented in a high-quality folder
This stamp pack contains all stamps from the Kalkadoon Dreaming stamp issue presented in a high-quality folder.
This stamp issue features the beautiful work of acclaimed contemporary Kalkadoon (Kalkatungu) artist Chern’ee Sutton. The stamps represent the artist’s traditional Country in the Mount Isa region of Queensland. Linking the stamps are flowing lines, which represent footprints travelling across the land. Community gatherings are indicated by circular motifs. The stamps subjects include a coolamon holding bush food and medicine and storytelling about the stars, animals and culture. The life-giving sun shines over the vital waterholes, rivers and rugged mountains of Kalkadoon Country, giving warmth and nurture to all. The emu is emphasised as it is the artist’s personal totem. Chern’ee Sutton has been the recipient of numerous awards and honours. She has been a Queensland Day Ambassador for the Arts and a Queensland Reconciliation Awards Ambassador and her work is held in collections nationally and internationally.
