Important information for Australia Post Insurance policyholders insured through Auto & General

Home and contents insurance sold by Australia Post was underwritten by Auto & General Insurance until 30 October 2020 and our partnership with the insurance provider has now ended.

Existing Australia Post Insurance policyholders who hold an Australia Post Home/Contents Insurance policy issued by Auto & General will be invited to take up a new Budget Direct policy upon renewal commencing in April 2021.

Updating your details

It's important we have your latest details, so you'll always have the right cover. Without the most current information we may not pay a claim, or we may pay a reduced claim.

You can update your home address or bank details easily online, or by calling 1300 858 747 Monday to Friday, 8am-10.30pm and Saturday 8am-5pm (AEST).

You can make a home and/or contents insurance claim online or by calling our 24/7 claims team on 1300 885 996.

Information to have on hand

You can make the claims process quicker and easier by collecting the following information before you call:

  • your policy number
  • the details of the loss or damage: when it happened, and what happened.

When making a claim, we recommend you follow the steps outlined in section three of the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
