In late 2010, The Pets Hotel, a $4 million purpose-built five-star hotel for pets, opened its doors in Melbourne's inner city suburb of Port Melbourne.


The Pets Hotel wanted to expand its customer database by targeting local pet owners.


The Pets Hotel worked with PostConnect to identify local pet owners using Australian Lifestyle Survey data. It then used direct mail and email to contact them with a compelling membership offer.


Around 12,000 local pet owners were identified and contacted, resulting in a substantial increase in The Pets Hotel membership. Even six months after the campaign, recipients were still taking up the campaign offer.
