How we’ll deliver for the environment

We’re focused on helping build a sustainable society by reducing our environmental impacts, facilitating a circular economy and ensuring a transparent and traceable supply chain.  

Our approach to environmental management is multi-faceted and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We’re focusing on: 

  • reducing our carbon emissions 
  • investing in renewable electricity 
  • increasing our electric delivery fleet 
  • exploring more sustainable packaging options
  • reducing, reusing and recycling materials 
  • facilitating a circular economy 
  • increasing transparency in our supply chain

Our 2025 environmental targets

We’ve set targets to decarbonise and put us on a path to Net Zero emissions by 2050. 

Carbon emissions

Reduce absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 15% from an FY19 baseline. Source 100% renewable electricity by 2025 across our sites, including our processing and delivery centres, Corporate Post Offices and support offices.

Waste management

Reduce our waste to landfill across our business (FY19 baseline) by 20%, and increase our recycling rate to 70% by 2025.
