Tendering

Contractors play an important and vital role in the delivery of letters and parcels in metropolitan, country and remote areas of Australia.
Australia Post engages contractors to perform these services through a regular public tender call at the beginning of each year, and other times throughout the year as required.
There are a number of different types of services that can be tendered for and the various types of mail services offered under contract include:
- Street Mail Delivery

Instructions for online tendering
Submission of a tender (bid) requires:
- an online summary of tender costs
Refer to 'How to enter your bid' section in the "Quick Guide to etendering" pdf above.
- submission of documents as outlined in the General Information for Tenderers.
Refer to 'How to attach documents and submit your bid' in the "Quick Guide to etendering" pdf above.
If you do not have Microsoft Word 97 or later, you can submit the summary of tender costs online. Then you must complete the Acrobat PDF version of Tender Form. Acrobat Reader will not allow the document to be saved electronically. Print two (2) copies of the completed Tender Form, submit one (1) signed copy by Registered Post or hand delivery and retain the other copy as your record.
Where posting or hand delivering documents, clearly mark the envelope as "Tender For Bid" [write the unique Bid Number - found on the Process Bids page in the Number column] and post one (1) copy of Tender Form with any other required documentation, by Registered Post to the address stated in the Mail Service Specifications.
When submitting any tender documents (online or by mail) they must be received at the address specified in the tender documents prior to the closing date and time of the tender.
Where this may not be possible you must contact the nominated contract office for further advice prior to the tender closing date and time.
Important note for past tenderers and current contractors
The method of tender price calculation has changed from previous years.
Instructions for completing the Tender Form can be found in the document titled "General Information for Tenderers".
You must read these instructions carefully before submitting your tender.
Tenderers are advised to seek independent financial and legal advice before submitting their tender to ensure they are fully aware of the financial and legal obligations of the tender and the rights and obligations of a Contractor under a Mail Contractor Agreement with Australia Post.
