View help and emergencies for full details regarding what you should do if your luggage is lost, stolen, damaged or delayed.

When does my travel insurance policy start?

Cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits will begin as soon as your policy is purchased for select policies.* Cover for all other aspects of your policy will begin on the day of your departure noted on your Certificate of Insurance (start date). Please note: You must purchase your policy before you commence your journey. You can buy a travel insurance policy up to 12 months prior to your departure date. * Not available on the International Basic plan.

What should I do if I have a medical emergency while I'm away and I'm covered by one of these travel insurance policies?

In case of medical emergency, illness or injury (including the need for medical evacuation) while you are away: Call our 24/7 emergency assistance team direct and toll free. (Please note the cost of a local call may apply if calling from a pay phone.) View help and emergencies for more information.

Which geographical region should I select when buying travel insurance?

To ensure effective cover, it is important to choose the right geographic region for your journey. Geographic regions are rated in order of price from highest to lowest. If you're travelling to multiple destinations in different geographical regions, you must select the highest geographical region, as this will cover travel in each of the lower geographical regions.

If you're travelling on a domestic cruise in Australian waters, you may also purchase an International Comprehensive plan (selecting Indonesia, South West pacific, NZ and Domestic Cruising) to ensure cover is available for emergency medical assistance and emergency overseas medical and hospital expenses.

I am currently overseas and have no insurance. Can I still take out a travel insurance policy?

No, you can't buy travel insurance if you are already overseas. Please ensure you purchase your travel insurance before you travel.

Do your travel insurance policies cover expensive items such as laptops, iPads, Smartphones and cameras?

Yes, under the International Comprehensive and Domestic plans, these items are all covered, but individual limits apply. You can increase your individual item limits when you take out your policy (additional premiums apply). Please check our Product Disclosure Statement for full details.
