Express Post is a simple and cost-effective express delivery service that you can rely on.

Sending your Express Post item

To guarantee next working day delivery, you will need to ensure that:

  • the delivery address is complete, including the postcode
  • you have signed the aviation and dangerous goods declaration on the front of satchels and parcels. If the declaration is not signed the item cannot be sent by air and may be transported by road or returned to you
  • the sender's details are complete, including a contact phone number
  • the item is the correct weight for the product type.

Simply lodge your Express Post items at your nearest Australia Post retail outlet or in a gold Express Post box**.

Confirmation of delivery

When you need proof of delivery, we recommend using our Express Post Platinum service - a premium next business working day delivery service that allows you to track your item and provides you with a signature on delivery.

*  The national next business day delivery network operates between all capital cities (except Darwin; Perth is CBD only) and some major centres. In each state next business day delivery network is available between a number of additional places not included in the national network. For further details please refer to our Express Post network section.

** Prepaid envelopes and satchels should be posted in gold Express Post boxes before 6pm Monday - Friday. Lodgement times are earlier in Perth and some regional centres so please check the time on the gold Express Post box.

Product range

Express Post is the only carrier to offer a range of different size prepaid envelopes for the delivery of documents, CDs and DVDs. Offering you nationwide flat rates, savings of up to 10 per cent are available when you buy envelopes in bulk.

You can send items up to 500g in weight and 20mm in thickness in each envelope. Envelopes come in the following sizes:

Buying prepaid Express Post envelopes

You can buy prepaid Express Post envelopes and satchels at any Australia Post retail outlet. All prices are inclusive of GST and you can save up to 10% when buying in bulk.

Posting Express Post envelopes

Once correctly addressed, simply drop your Express Post envelope into any one of the gold Express Post boxes by 6pm or hand it in at your nearest post office to guarantee next day delivery. Lodgement times are earlier in Perth and some regional centres, so check the time on the gold Express Post box.

When posting Express Post satchels you will also need to sign the aviation security and dangerous goods declaration which appears on the front of the satchel.

Please note that posting your Express Post item in a red street posting box will delay your delivery.
