As of April 8 2013, you will notice some changes to our products, international zones and pricing.

Pricing adjustments

Postage charges for selected domestic parcel products, bulk mail and Print Post services, as well as international mail and parcel services, will change on 8 April. Price changes vary depending on the product; however these changes will not alter the Basic Postage Rate (60 cent stamp). Find out more

Simpler domestic parcel products

We've listened to our customers and are launching a new range of domestic parcel products. Delivering your parcel is now as easy as choosing your speed, size and adding any required features. It's as simple as 1, 2, 3. Find out more

International rezoning 

To ensure prices for international postage reflect the costs incurred when sending internationally, more international delivery zones are being introduced. International letters will have 3 zones instead of 2, and international parcels will increase from 4 zones to 8.

Simpler parcel products

We want our products and services to be as flexible and easy to use as possible. So, we've made some changes. From 8 April 2013, we are launching a new range of domestic parcel products, designed to give you greater flexibility and control when sending parcels within Australia.

The new domestic parcel range makes sending a parcel as simple as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Choose parcel delivery speed 
    Same Day*, Next Day#, Regular 
  2. Select parcel size
    Small 500g, Medium 3kg, Large 5kg - or own packaging up to 22kg 
  3. Add features
     Extra Cover, Signature on Delivery, Email Track Advice, Cash on Delivery

Our customers told us that they would like tracking included for all of our parcel products. We listened. From 8 April 2013, all domestic parcels lodged through an Australia Post retail outlet will be traceable through our online tracking tool.

We have introduced Courier Post, a new product for when you require urgent same day delivery. Courier Post will be available from metropolitan to metropolitan areas within the same state for parcels lodged by 2pm.

Courier Post will only be available for medium sized satchels and for assessed parcels up to 22kg. Courier Post will not be available for small or large satchels.

Registered Post for domestic parcels included Signature on Delivery and the optional feature of Extra Cover. This service will be withdrawn from 8 April 2013. However, Registered Post products and services will still be available for standard letters.

Want the same offering as Registered Post for your parcel delivery?
Simply choose the regular product, Parcel Post, and then add Signature on Delivery or Extra Cover as optional features. 

Note: Signature on Delivery can be purchased as a single feature for $2.95. If you would like Extra Cover you need to purchase both Signature on Delivery for $2.95 and Extra Cover for $1.50 per $100 value (or part thereof).

Removal of Express Post 3kg large and 5kg large satchels Click to expand Click to collapse

As part of our product standardisation, Prepaid Express Post 3kg large and Express Post 5kg large satchels will be withdrawn from 8 April 2013. However, if you have purchased prepaid Express Post 3kg large and 5kg large satchels, you can continue to lodge these parcels.

We have standardised the maximum weight and dimensions for all domestic parcels to 22kg in weight, 0.25m³ in size and 105cm in length.

* Same day delivery only available within metropolitan areas of major Australian capital cities.

# Next business day delivery only available within the Express Post delivery network.

We will continue to review our prices regularly, however at this stage the only confirmed price increases for our products and services are on 8 April 2013.
