What's a National Police Certificate?

A WA Police National Police Certificate (NPC) lists your criminal and traffic court outcomes, as well as any pending charges that are deemed suitable to disclose.

It's quite common for prospective employers or licensing bodies to ask you to provide an NPC as part of their screening process.

How to apply online

  2. Do your ID check online
  3. Pay and lodge your application*

How to apply in person

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Click 'download and print your completed application form' at the bottom of the page
  3. Print the application summary and gather your original proof of ID documents
  4. Find a participating Post Office near you
  5. Visit this Post Office, pay and complete your ID check to lodge your printed application form
    Payments: You can use cash, EFTPOS or credit (MasterCard or Visa)

Note: You'll need to complete your ID check within 30 days of printing your application summary.

You should receive your certificate in the mail within 15 days of submitting your application.

If your certificate doesn't arrive within this period, you can email WA Police to check the progress of your application.
