Australia Post's Letter Link
For teachers

Welcome to the Letter Link websiteWelcome to the Letter Link website

To coincide with the 2010 Commonwealth Games in October, Australia Post will once again be running its popular Letter Link program.

Letter Link, which was first established for the 1992 Olympic Games, encourages school children across the country to write to Australian athletes in Delhi. It provides a wonderful opportunity for students to practise their writing skills while helping to boost the spirits of our athletes.

On this website you will find primary and secondary lesson ideas and student activity sheets covering all learning areas, interesting facts about the Commonwealth Games, information about two Australian athletes competing in Delhi and a facility to order your free Letter Link envelopes.

The write your letter section has a letter writing interactive which allows students to write their letter on line and then print it out and mail it. There are two other fun and engaging student interactives, ideal for use on an interactive whiteboard (IWB), which will help students review their Commonwealth Games knowledge, and test their memories.

This year, Letter Link is running a competition just for teachers. For more information, see the teacher resource booklet in the education resource pack, or the teacher competition details section.
