20 April 2010  |  International mail delays

"Mail addressed to affected European destinations is continuing to be processed by Australia Post as part of our normal procedures for International Mail delivery.

Any mail that has not been able to be airlifted is being securely stored awaiting airlift when planes are cleared to fly.

It is difficult to determine the exact volumes of mail impacted at this stage with mail either already in transit or dispatched by processing facilities awaiting airlift.

Mail that was dispatched by Australia Post to European destinations prior to the 13th April has been uplifted and received at destination ports.

Next available services to Europe are not known at this time and cannot be confirmed until official notification from European authorities on when flights can resume is received.

Qantas is working closely with Australia Post to keep us informed of any changes as they come to hand.

There is no impact to international mail delievries to countries outside affected European destinations."
