Mail2Day alerting service

If you'd like to be advised when you've got mail waiting in your post office box, Australia Post can send you an email or SMS using the Mail2Day® alerting service.

You can choose to be notified on:

  • days when you have mail
  • days when you don't have mail, or
  • every day.

An alert will be sent to you after 7am each day, within 30 minutes of your mail being sorted.

You can nominate one mobile telephone number to receive notifications by SMS. Or if you'd prefer to receive your alerts by email, you can provide up to two email addresses - we'll send your alert to each address you provide.

Fees for the Mail2Day alerting service depend on whether you choose email or SMS.

To find out whether your Australia Post retail outlet offers the Mail2Day alerting service, ask at the counter or call 13 POST (13 7678).

Applying for Mail2Day

Applying for the Mail2Day alerting service is simple. It can be done at the same time as applying for a post office box or locked bag, using the same form.

Terms and conditions apply to post office boxes, locked bags and Mail2Day.
