Going on holiday? Hold your mail
With Australia Post's Mail Holding service, you can arrange for your mail to be held while you are on holiday or spending time away from your business.
On the next delivery day after your return, Australia Post will deliver all your held mail articles. Having your mail held while you're away ensures security for your mail and peace of mind for you.
You can complete and lodge an Application to Hold Mail in person at any Australia Post retail outlet.
Australia Post requires 3 full business days to process your request before the service can commence.
Lodging your application in-store
You can download an Application to Hold Mail or pick one up from your nearest Australia Post retail outlet. Lodge your application in-store as follows:
- complete your Application to Hold Mail (two copies if you have downloaded the form from this site)
- take it to your closest Australia Post retail outlet for processing, along with payment and sufficient proof of identity
- retain your receipt and customer copy of the application form. You will need your customer reference number, noted on the top right of your form, if you have any queries or wish to make any changes to the service.
