However, if you'd like the convenience of offering your customers or staff their choice of gift cards through an independent national retail network, our Gift Card Rewards service is ideal. We'll help your business set up and administer your customised gift card program. It's an easy and secure way of delivering incentives to your customers or staff.

How our Gift Card Rewards service works
We use barcode technology to manage our Gift Card Rewards service. Barcodes are printed on redemption vouchers or letters for your customers - we then use these barcodes to process claims efficiently.
The process for both you and your customers is very simple:
1. Promotion
You promote your gift card incentive scheme to your customers using your channel of choice - for example, advertising, in-store promotions or direct mail.
2. Issuing barcoded redemption vouchers
Once your customer has taken the required action (for example, purchased your product or completed your survey) you issue them with a redemption voucher or letter containing a barcode together with instructions for redeeming it at any Australia Post retail outlet offering gift cards.We recommend you use a unique barcode for each claim as this will prevent duplicate payments. When setting up your Gift Card Rewards program, we'll work with your business to ensure that you have the correct specifications to print barcodes that can be accurately and securely read by our point-of-sale scanning equipment.
3. Customer redemption
Your customer visits an Australia Post retail outlet with their redemption form plus any documentation you require (for example, proof of purchase or proof of identity).
4. Claim validation
Our counter staff validate your customer's claim by scanning the barcode and checking any documentation.
5. Fufilment
Your customer chooses and receives their gift card on the spot.
6. Reconciliation and reporting
We store your redemption forms in a central location and provide you with daily consolidated reports of all claims made by your customers - including the date, location and reference number for each transaction.
How to order gift cards
There are two ways you can order gift cards at Australia Post:
- Visit Australia Post
Download and complete the gift card order form and take it to your local Australia Post retail outlet.

- Fax us
Download and complete the gift card order form and fax it to your local Australia Post retail outlet. Please include your phone number so we can contact you in case of poor transmission.

Choice of payment methods
Choose the payment option that suits you best:
- EFTPOS - EFTPOS facilities are available if you order in person at your local Australia Post retail outlet. The minimum transaction is $10 and cash out is not available.
- Credit Card - Australia Post accepts VISA and Mastercard.
- Cheque - Cheques should be made payable to Australia Post and marked "Not negotiable". Terms and conditions for acceptance of cheques apply. Please check with your local Australia Post retail outlet before placing an order.
- Cash - you may pay cash when you order at your local Australia Post retail outlet.

Please take notice of any expiry date applicable to the card. Gift cards are not normally redeemable for cash. Cards may not be redeemable for up to 24 hours after purchase.
