Medibank Private rewards new members
Medibank Private has been using Australia Post's Gift Card Reward service to provide gift cards for new members. The private health insurer originally handled the fulfilment of the gift cards in-house but became frustrated with time and administrative constraints.
"Then we heard about Australia Post's Gift Card Reward service and were impressed that we could direct our members - via a unique barcoded letter - to one of 1,700 retail outlets to choose from a far greater selection of gift cards than we could ever provide," says Luke Davis, Campaign Manager - Southern States & NSW, Medibank Private.
Luke says a big benefit of using Australia Post is that, if a member says they haven't received a gift card redemption letter, it can be easily cancelled and a replacement letter reissued with a new barcode.
Medibank Private developed its solution by working with Australia Post to develop the layout, copy and design of the gift card letter. This was followed by a testing phase to make sure that the barcode and over-the-counter redemption worked.
"It was a smooth process and one that has provided us with a system where we can offer a valuable reward to our members in a safe, secure and economical environment," says Luke. He says that being able to log on to a website and get real-time information gives Medibank Private "a useful insight, by letting us track redemption activity on a daily basis".
